VISION 

The Colegio Ng Lungsod Ng Batangas (CLB) is committed to quality but affordable education and people oriented institution of learning which equips graduates with required competencies and ethical principles to assume resposible roles in meeting the challenges of modern life as a universal man upholding the rights of the majority, respecting the dignity of the person and protecting the environment. 

 MISSION 

To prepare students to become useful citizens, God-fearing, value oriented and disciplined individuals who are competitive professionals engaged in the noble task of uplifting the quality of life in the community, the Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB) is inspired by the ideals of

 1.TRUTH The power of knowledge centeredon the emancipating force of truth;

 2.JUSTICE The oppurtunity to avail themeselves of blessings of knowledge and social progress in a community where power and oppurtunity are shared within the framework of the ideals and principles of democracy; and, 

3. INTEGRITY Honesty is the primrodial priciple governing one’s decisions, action and actuation

 

 

History

The Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas trace its beginning when Mayor Eduardo B.Dimacuha issued Executive Order No.26 dated August 20,2005 creating the Committee for the Establishment of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Batangas that will “provide quality but affordable education more particularly to our talented but poor student populace.” The Committee was chaired by Atty.Narciso Macarandang with the following as members:Atty.Reginald Dimacuha, Mr.Felipe Baroja, Engr.Januario Godoy, Dr. Rossana Barion, the late Treasurer Benjamine Pargas, Dr.Angelito Bagui, Atty Edelwina Sabido, Mr.Edelberto Perez, Mrs.Leticia Chua, Mr. Manolo Perlada and Mrs. Luz Amparo. Thus began the spadework for the Committee---drafting of the Character, preparation of the curriculum, the organizational structure of College official faculty and administrative personnel, the school site and facilties, and all other document pursuant to the requirement of the Commission on Higher Education for the degree courses and of Tesda for the 2- year courses. By virtue of City Ordinance No.16 2005 dated October 24, 2005 the establishment of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Batangas was approvedHowever,Ordinance No.16 had to be amended pursuant to a directive from the Commission on Higher Education that all new institution of higher learning have to start as a college. Another Ordinance No.1 2006 datad February 20, 2006 was passed changing the name Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Batangas to Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas. The permit to operate from the CHED was issued on April 11,2006 which states that: “In accordance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) No. 7722,otherwise known as the ”Higher Education Act of “1994”,and by virtue of the Resolution No. R420-97,Series of 1997,of the Commission, the Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas,Batangas City,is hereby authorized to offer the First Year Level of the Bachelor of Science in Commerce (BSC-major in Management) Course,effective Collegiate Year (CY) 2006-2007. The authority herein granted shall remain in force and required standards for the said course and the budgetary allocation for its operations are provided for and maintained.”
Having completed its task,the Commitee work was terminated and the responsibility was taken over by the Board of Regents as a policy-making body composed of Mayor Eduardo B. Dimacuha as Chairman,Atty.Teodulfo A. Deguito,Dr. Rosanna Carmelita A. Barrion and Engr. Januario Godoy, CHED Director Isabel Inlayo as ex-officio member with Atty.Edelwina E. Sabido,as BOR Secretary and the College Officials namely , Atty.Teodulfo A. Deguito,College Administrator:Dr.Angelito B. Bagui,Dean of Instruction:Mr.Felipe M. Baroja,Registrar;Mrs.Boongaling,Progam Head BSC;Dr. Feliciana F. Adarlo,Progarm Head Education;Mr.Manalo M. Perlada,Program Head ICT..Personnel for administrative and academic concerns worked on thier respective assignments. They are Mrs.Asther P. Marasigan,Accountant;Mrs.Hiyasmin A.Candava,Guidance Counselor;Mrs.Evangeline B. Ditan,Librarian;Mr.Gerry B. Agregado,Budget Officer;Mrs. Teresita M. Kalalo, Personnel Officer; Mr.Robert Allen O.Pargas, Casheir; Dr.Leonor A. De Guzman, Digna M. Lumanglas and Dr. Mariloi B. Hernandez, for medical and dental Staff; Mr.Lope C. Gonzales, Maintenance, Property, Supply and Procurement Officer; Mr. Aristeo M. Villena, Security Head. The pioneer faculty members worked on their own preparations for teaching. They are Marjorie E De Jesus, Marianne A. Gumacal, Meliton C. De Guzman, Angelito P. Bukiz, Feliciana F. Adarlo, Angela J. Banuelos, Teodulfo A. Deguito, Lerma F. Agtay, Glenda D. Garcia, and Lu,Angela J. Banuelos, Teodulfo A. Deguito, Lerma F. Agtay, Glenda D. Garcia, and Luciano I. Asilo Jr. For its initial offering, the Colegio opened courses for two four-year degree program-Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Bachelor of Science in Commerce and two-year courses- Computer Programming and Computer Technician. As of the first semester of School year 2006-2007 three hundred two (302) students have availed of free college education on the initiative of Mayor Eduardo B. Dimacuha and the support of the Sanguniang Panglungsod and city goverment department heads and employees. June 5,2006 goes down in the history of Batangas City as a very significant day as the Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas opens its doors to 302 student;65 in the BEED curriculum;80 in BSC;77 in the Computer Programming and 80 in Computer Technician.
